Sorcery is the methods of cultivating ones mind, energies, and souls toward particular sublime paths, as spiritual as it is practical. Well, truthfully, for most, myself including, we think mostly about the practical applications. We learn the most profound truths about reality, and crystallize them into spells. That's what they are, before they are words and amulets and rituals. The Star is the Path of moving, of space, of vastness. Thus, moving and perceiving are the gifts that I learned.
...Haha, a bit weighty for cheerful evening drive, sorry.
Oh, I mean—it's not really weighty at all, is it? Even if I don't understand it exactly, it's something I wanted to know more about. Are there a lot of paths...?
Quite a lot. Sky, Sun, Moon, Storm, Earth, Blood, Breath, Bone, Death... those are some of the more common ones. There's also magic that falls outside of most of the paths, but which sorcerers tend to cultivate, like warding, and spirit-talking.
Usually, but not always. It can seem quite metaphorical, at times, and the paths often overlap. Both Sun and Star have spells for discerning the truth, for example. Besides Water, there are the paths of Sea and River, with their own unique aspects, but broad similarities. There are many small and rare Paths, and those whose souls are attuned to them have difficulty finding adequate training.
...well, I suppose there's a lot of things that we think of as simply techniques for manipulating essence where I come from that are very narrowly specialized, with sorcery as its own category, so I suppose it's not that different from that perspective.
[ a... pause. ]
Is there something with... chaos? I feel like you've said something like that, before.
Yes... though I think it is exceedingly rare, and I don't know if it can really be classified as sorcery. There are related Paths, like Forge and Cauldron, but... what I have is more primal still, though it still manifests itself as spells much like those of sorcery. I was given that potential, or perhaps infected is a more accurate term, at a young age.
I have been. I use drives like these to process them, but now this time is for you.
I... honestly don't know enough about the "infection" to know if it's curable, as it were. Perhaps not the original one, but maybe the later, ah, experiments performed on me, may be mitigated.

Ah, I didn't think of that, I'm sorry! I'll go a little slower.

I suppose a lot of those are self-explanatory, at least. I think?

...that seems, well—is there a way to... un-infect yourself?

It's a nice day out, though. On a day like this, it almost feels like there isn't much wrong with me.

...sorry, I didn't mean to get into something kind of... weighty, myself.

...I want there to be more better days for you, you know?

Would it be too much to say that I'll hope it can be? Mitigated, I mean.
